Description
After a year-long hiatus, Dweller returns in 2026. The NY-based festival books exclusively Black artists, showcasing some of the most groundbreaking and exciting artists in electronic music today. Since its launch in 2019, each edition has been a major highlight of the year, a source of inspiration that resonates throughout the community and dance music underground. BASEMENT is proud to present back-to-back full-club takeovers on February 20th and 21st. Dweller’s second night at the venue represents multiple generations of visionary Black techno and house. DJ Bone headlines BASEMENT. One of the greatest master technicians to ever grace the decks, the Detroit artist is an avowed ambassador to his hometown’s inimitable soul and innovative spirit. As a producer, Bone put his own stamp on the template set by key artists like Underground Resistance and Los Hermanos; a classic DJ Bone track can bring in soaring, interstellar pads, grainy vocal samples, glittery arpeggiations or a simple, hypnotic loop. But what never changes is his thundering percussion. Focused, direct and impossible to ignore, Bone embodies the essence of techno. Or, as Livity Sound’s Kowton once said, his music is “How I imagine the future will sound.” Mutagenix - the duo of Huey Mnemonic and D. Strange - join. Both artists are important figures in the midwest electronic underground. Mnemonic is based in Detroit, where he has studied under UR’s “Mad” Mike Banks, and Strange is rooted in Chicago. Their collaboration builds on years of explorations of techno’s deepest waters. Bapari returns from LA. An artist whose output is marked by fearless growth, Bapari moves from strength to strength, through wrought club monsters to elegant vocal-led downbeat. For this night, she delivers a special techno set. Kevin Aviance headlines STUDIO. An icon of NY’s ‘90s club culture, Aviance made his mark on ballroom with tracks like “Cunty” and “Rhythm Is My Bitch” - some of the most ferocious slices of vocal-led house ever put to tape. Remerging in recent years, Aviance’s core magnetism is in full form. A run of studio collaborations, including releases with Honey Dijon and EPs on Nervous Records, pick up where Aviance left off, with tough house rhythms and huge moments of anthemic power. Chicago’s Mister Wallace joins. The FUTUREHOOD founder trades in unalloyed grit, bringing a confrontational swagger to everything he does. Rapping over his own perfectly-raw club tracks, Wallace fuses stark horror-hop with ballroom’s thundering urgency. Sekucci seals the deal. An essential voice in New York, Sekucci’s rhythmic dexterity and bold touch have made her an unmissable talent. ■ No photos or videos ■ Ticket purchase does not guarantee entrance ■ No phone use on the dancefloor ■ The dance floor is for dancing, not conversation ■ No glowing/flashing clothes or items ■ Respect other people's space, no shuffling ■ Consent is mandatory ■ Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form of discrimination ■ Take care of each other, alert our staff if somebody isn't feeling well ■ Violating the house rules will result in removal PLEASE REVIEW HOUSE POLICIES AT LINK BELOW
