'The Continuous Present' is a quarterly Friday series at Tresor devoted to artists working in the now, not as a trend, but as a practice. Taking its cue from Gertrude Stein’s idea of the “continuous present,” the night foregrounds sound as an unfolding process: repetition with difference, momentum without resolution, intensity sustained rather than peaked.
Each edition invites contemporary artists whose work reflects this philosophy, music that evolves through duration, pressure, and subtle mutation, rather than spectacle. Set within Tresor’s foundation, The Continuous Present frames the club as a living system: history active, future in formation, the present continuously recomposed on the floor.
