Cited by Resident Advisor as one of the genre’s finest DJs, and praised by FACT and Electronic Beats for his refined production craft and multifaceted artistry, Fengler has spent more than two decades shaping modern club culture. An early resident of Berlin’s Berghain / Panorama Bar since 2005, his sets are marked by precision and emotional range—moving fluidly between industrial density, broken rhythms, shadowed dub, funk-laden precision, and melodic drive. His early releases on Ostgut Ton and Mote Evolver established his forward-thinking approach, culminating in his 2013 debut album Fokus, a statement of intent defined by contrast and control. In 2011, Fengler launched Index Marcel Fengler (IMF), a label dedicated both to his own timeless techno vision and to cultivating new talent. In 2018 he expanded his sonic scope with AZUR, an alias exploring more melodic and introspective terrains.
