Despite the name, sometimes we do like happy people. We just prefer them late night under low lights, somewhere between hypnotic techno and questionable life decisions. We Don’t Like Happy People is a Washington, DC-based collective built around deep, hypnotic and slightly strange sounds. We bring together local and visiting DJs, intimate spaces and people who actually want to get lost in the music for a while. No big attitude, no dress code for being cool, no need to know every track. Just come, dance and see where the night goes. Smiling is allowed. Excessive happiness remains suspicious.
