Description
Sessa + Leo Middea (Free Entry) Wednesday, May 20th 2026 21+ | Zaku Stage Sessa—born Sergio Sayeg—is drawn to what he calls “the mess” of music: the way sound mutates as it travels. A cultural cannibal in the lineage of Tropicália, the São Paulo native (via New York) folds rock, jazz, samba, and soul into a singular language. His latest album, Pequena Vertigem de Amor (Lil’ Vertigo of Love), pushes his universe further into the nocturnal—late-’70s MPB sophistication and psychedelic soul circling his core elements of acoustic guitar, Afro-Brazilian percussion, and the intimate call-and-response of his voice with a familial female chorus. Rio-born and now Barcelona-based, Leo Middea brings a decade of motion behind him: five albums, 300+ shows across 16 countries, over 10 million Spotify streams, and a historic run to second place at Portugal’s 2024 Festival da Canção—the first Brazilian ever to reach the final. Blending traditional forms with global influence, he is currently shaping a sixth album from songs recorded live around the world.
