Alongside our market, Projector will be hosting a short film festival, starting at 4pm, where we will be watching six critically-acclaimed Palestinian shorts, all of which touch on the impact of — and resistance to — settler-colonialism in Palestine. All vendors are donating between 50-100% of all proceeds generated to the families and initiatives we are supporting in Palestine! ____ In January of 2025, Boiler Room_ was acquired by Superstruct which is owned by KKR, the second largest private equity firm in the world. KKR has directly invested in the genocide of Palestinians and the violent theft of indigenous land. KKR has continually used the cultural sector as a means of masking their global violence campaign through the veil of art and music. Boiler Room_ is a company built on the exploitation of underground dance culture in order to legitimize their brand and support their fascist investors. DC does not need Boiler Room_ and its blood money in order to showcase local talent and build a platform for the artists, musicians, and organizers who diligently work to create community spaces. Boycott Room DC is a congregation of different community-based groups who will not let their creativity and space be a smokescreen for capital, control, and genocide. Our goal is not only to directly divest energy and money away from Boiler Room_ DC but also to fundraise as much money as possible to be donated to those most affected by KKR’s investment in Israel. Please join on September 11th and 12th for a host of events from a nighttime rave (Friday) to a daytime market and film festival (Saturday). We aim to showcase what DC’s underground scene really has to offer. **100% of ticket proceeds will be donated directly to families and initiatives on the ground in Palestine. All vendors are committed to donating between 50-100% of what they raise**
