She started djing at raves at 17, studied sound design in Florida, and became a regular in the state’s club circuit, eventually catching the attention of legends like DJ Three. Her dreamy, leftfield sound found a home on All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, and Watergate, while her more experimental side led to standout releases on Hallucienda—including her acclaimed debut album Holograma and its follow-up Morph. Whether crafting ambient pop with Kirsty Hawkshaw or delivering trippy club sets around the world, Öona keeps pushing boundaries and making it all sound effortless. - Mona Matsuaka (@monamatsuoka) A winning mix of Japanese and American heritage, Mona Matsuoka appeals to a broad spectrum of cultures, weaving seamlessly through the arts of fashion and music.
