Friday, March 20th we welcome Juliet Mendoza to CARGO. LA native, lifelong dancer, and a deeply rooted force in underground house culture, she takes us from 12AM–3AM with a set built for movement. Rooted in LA’s mid-’90s underground, Juliet came up in rooms like Arena and Carnival before becoming a respected dancer and promoter by her early 20s. A core member of OpenHouse LA and founder of Jill’s House (Jackin Jills), she’s spent decades immersed in the culture, teaching, building community, and refining a sound that’s traveled from Los Angeles to Amsterdam, Paris and Mexico City. Along the way she’s shared decks with Doc Martin, Marques Wyatt, Riva Starr, Colette, DJ Heather, and Peggy Gou, and was recognized as a Defected Records Unsung Hero in 2022 taking her sound to Croatia and beyond. 9PM–12AM in the Foyer, Borbón gets things activated early. A steady presence in Brooklyn’s circuit, he’s played rooms like Good Room, Jupiter Disco, and underground warehouse sessions across NYC. He's known for dialing in a crowd and locking it there. Expect the Foyer to be nice and warm by 10pm and fully moving before midnight. 12AM–3AM is Robert PM. A fixture of Brooklyn’s creative underground since the late 2000s, Robert first emerged as one half of French Horn Rebellion — the “delightfully bizarre” (Vice) indie-dance duo whose catalog earned hundreds of millions of streams, a GRAMMY shortlist for Electronic Album of the Year, official remixes for Beyoncé, Sia, and Two Door Cinema Club, and production credits on MGMT’s Time to Pretend EP. Now, as the founder of Toucan Sounds, nominated by DJ Mag as 2023’s Breakthrough Label of the Year, Robert sits at the center of New York’s alternative house movement, bridging Brooklyn’s underground pulse with global reach. Through the label, he’s collaborated with and championed artists like Purple Disco Machine, The Knocks, musclecars, Dee Diggs, and Felipe Gordon, bridging Brooklyn’s underground pulse with global reach. Expect the Foyer to be at full tilt and dialed all the way in. Venue opens at 5PM | Happy Hour 5PM-8PM | Music at 9PM | 21+ Kitchen open late Backpacks and large bags are not permitted inside the venue and are subject to mandatory coat check.
