Opening CARGO from 10PM–12AM is Ian Friday, an audio/visual curator and performance artist dedicated to exploring and exhibiting the cultural traditions and histories of the African diaspora. Founder of Global Soul Music, Ian creates and archives sound that connects house, soul, Afrobeat, jazz, and world music uncovering the ongoing evolution of Black musical culture. As Co-Founder, Associate Director, and Performance Curator of The Colored Girls Museum, he develops programming and leads creative storytelling across platforms, and as the longtime resident DJ of Libation — NYC’s home for globally soulful dance music — he’s built a legacy rooted in rhythm, scholarship, and community. Through music and art, Ian channels the oral traditions that have carried stories of African-descended people across generations, turning the dance floor into both celebration and living archive.
12AM–3AM in CARGO, Sabine Blaizin takes the reins for a special birthday set, bringing her signature global sound to the dance floor. A DJ, producer, curator, and founder of Oyasound, Sabine champions African diasporic music with a signature Global Soul sound rooted in House, Afrotech, Afrobeat, and Haitian rhythms. With over a decade in New York’s underground scene, her sets are percussive, powerful, and deeply intentional honoring ancestral sound while driving the dance floor forward. Beyond the booth, she serves as Deputy Director & Head of Programs at the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute, advocating for Haitian arts and scholarship, and that depth translates into something you can feel: connection, pride, and release. Expect sweat, movement, and the kind of 3AM energy that only Sabine can bring.
In the Foyer from 9PM–12AM, theoretic sets the tone with a genre-blurring session rooted deep in Brooklyn’s underground. Jersey-raised and Brooklyn-based, theoretic is a DJ, producer, educator, and curator whose sonic language fuses House, Techno, Disco, NY Garage, Soul, and Black club music without limits, across borders. Whether playing digitally or from their expansive vinyl collection, their sets unfold like a symphonic medley that pulls even the most restrained feet into motion. With residencies at ANIMAL and Hi-Note Radio, and as the mind behind House Anatomy and the DJ interview series SCRIMMAGE, theoretic has become a staple across dance floors from Elsewhere to Good Room, Nowadays to Le Bain and beyond — while also reaching international stages like Kampnagel and My Analog Journal. Their productions have earned critical acclaim, including a standout feature on Air Texture’s IYKYK compilation (ranked among DJ Mag’s best of 2024), alongside releases on Others to the Front and their debut Eponymous EP.
12AM-3AM we welcome Gurl& a genre-fluid DJ known for weaving soulful house, disco and underground grooves into sets that feel both hypnotic and high-energy. With an intuitive ear and a deep love for the dancefloor, she builds immersive journeys that balance warmth and rhythm. She's dropped music like the En Mis Sueños EP on Mexico City’s Wav AWAV radio and collaborated with producers like DJ Fucci, showing a taste for cross-scene connection and global sound.
