Swallowed Open Decks

We’re taking it back to basics for this January edition at the beautiful @selva_nyc, a bar, gallery, record store and café. This spot gives us a special opportunity to play with both vinyl and digital so it’s a great opportunity for folks working to hone their vinyl mixing skills. Come with your crew, a friend, a date—or come solo and meet some people. All levels are welcome! Just bring a USB, a pair of headphones, and whatever sounds you've been playing with lately, and connect with fellow local selectors and music lovers. HOW IT WORKS ~ Sign up with DJ girlcrush upon arrival ~ 6pm - 8pm: first come first serve, 30 min slots ~ 8pm - 12am: raffle, 20 min slots ~ 2x tickets for FLINTA* DJs ~ raffle is generally drawn at the top of every hour for the next hour (ex. At 7pm for 8:00, 8:20 & 8:40) FLINTA* stands for “Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Nonbinary, Trans, Agender, and * for other gender nonconforming people.” You can tell me to sign you up for 2x tickets if this term describes you! EQUIPMENT Bring your own USB & headphones. Selva has two CDJ 2000s, Pioneer 800 mixer, and two technic 1200s. PHOTOS AND RECORDING We are trying out different recording methods all the time and allowing photographers, videographers, and content creators practice as a part of this space. Please know if you come, your photo or video may be taken for promotional purposes. We will do our best to distribute content to the DJs who have played.
