Can we trust our ears? Paulo Rafael raises the question, lets it resonate through the subconscious, and answers it through sound, pressure and tension. After fracturing the space-time continuum in his previous project, “_[REAL]idade”, the Portuguese artist, DJ and producer (based in Ourém), gathers the fragments and reshapes them into raw, uncompromising techno. Paulo Rafael’s return to the darker territories of electronic music, in development since 2022, is expressed through high-intensity performances built on relentless percussion, distorted synth architectures and suffocated vocal textures. His sets are designed to transcend the functional — creating immersive, pressure- driven environments that blur the boundaries of time and space, where rhythm, distortion and atmosphere converge. Influenced by the demonic vertigo of Shlømo, the seismic force of AIROD, Luciid’s sensory assault and 999999999’s hardcore-driven energy, Paulo Rafael operates at the intersection of control and chaos, delivering sound experiences conceived for movement, tension and collective release.
