In 1794 French Revolution gave freedom to all slaves in the colonies. In 1802 Napoleon Bonaparte decided to reinstate the misery. Based in Guadeloupe (West Indies ) mixed raced officer Louis Delgres gave his life fighting the french rather than surrender. Many guadeloupeans were exiled, some to Louisiana...birthplace of the blues. Something good came out of this mess after all...
