Pioneering new music from members of the iconic and legendary funk band Parliament Funkadelic & friends. 
 Detroit Rising is an exciting indie band created by 10 groove masters including the current and original members of the archetypal funk band P-Funk. Taking a break from relentless touring, the musicians step out in a whole new direction, creating a hybrid sound of funk-jazz with injections of soul and hip hop. 
 Launching their first project in 2018, “ A Cosmic Jazz Funk Adventure”, the band recorded live jams at the world famous Motown affiliated United Sound Studios in Detroit. 
 Featured in DETROIT RISING are United Sound guitarist Duminie Deporres (Public Enemy) and bassist Kern Brantley (Lady Gaga, Beyonce) & P-Funk musicians: Gabe Gonzalez (drums), Danny Bedrosian (piano, Moog), DeWayne “Blackbyrd” McKnight (guitar/has also played with Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Lige Curry (bass), Greg Thomas (saxophone, also played with Bootsy Collins), Benjamin “Benzel” Cowan (drums & son of P-Funk trumpet player Benny Cowan), Tonysha Nelson (vocals & granddaughter of George Clinton) & Steve Boyd (vocals) & vocalist Sue Ann Carwell (Prince). 
 2023 Dance/club remixes for all the tracks are being made by eminent UK DJ- producers: Jimpster, Dave Lee and Sean McCabe, Kaidi Tatham from (Bugz in the Attic) and EVM128 from (Coop presents: Selectors Assemble).
