In the great pot of French rap, La Brigade is one of the main ingredients, from the point of view of the hip hop gourmet. Not necessarily well known to the general public, La Brigade is nonetheless an important group in terms of its militancy and style, often imitated since the late 1990s. Un Esprit Libre Ne Meurt Jamais (2005) marks the collective's commitment.
