Ka§par, born João Silva Pires, is a multifaceted artist from Lisbon, with roots in Odivelas and Santo António dos Cavaleiros—places that have shaped his identity and journey. Raised in close contact with underground musical influences, ranging from house, dub, drum and bass, and acid jazz to rap, trip hop, and garage, Ka§par also draws inspiration from new wave memories and the Afro-urban culture of his neighborhood. With a career that began at the age of 15 as a resident DJ at Frágil, Ka§par started producing music at 18 and, by 22, represented Portugal at the Red Bull Music Academy. Since then, he has traveled the world, sharing his unique musical vision. With extensive experience, he stands out for exploring the Afro-American house-techno axis, influenced by New York, Chicago, and Detroit, as well as London sounds and classic Afro-Brazilian groove. Founder of Percebes Música, Ka§par is a producer with hundreds of releases to his name, a sound engineer, a respected educator, and host of the show Desvio Padrão on Rádio Oxigénio. Recognized for his eclecticism, refined technique, and ability to energize the dancefloor, Ka§par is considered one of the most respected figures in the music scene, always staying true to his authenticity and artistic vision.
